1. Introduction

Sword Devotional ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Sword Devotional mobile application ("the App") and website at sworddevotional.com ("the Site").

By using the App or Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password, or authentication tokens when you sign in with Google. We do not store your Google password.

User-Generated Content

We store the notes you write (including handwritten note data), the devotionals you save to Favorites, and your selected Bible translation preference. This content is linked to your account so it syncs across your devices.

Push Notification Tokens

If you enable push notifications, we store an Expo push token associated with your account. This token is used solely to deliver your daily devotional notification and streak reminders. It is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

Usage Data

We do not collect analytics, crash logs, or behavioral tracking data beyond what is necessary to operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the App and its features
• To sync your notes, favorites, and preferences across devices
• To send push notifications you have opted into
• To authenticate you securely when you sign in
• To respond to support requests if you contact us

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third-party marketing services.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with row-level security controls. Data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
• Expo — mobile app platform and push notification delivery
• API.Bible — Bible text retrieval (no personal data is shared)
• Google Sign-In — optional OAuth authentication
• Vercel — hosting for the website and backend API

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via the Settings tab
• Update your account information within the App

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
